| Emulators are also illegal, due to copyright infringement and what-not. The only way it isn't illegal is if you rip the stuff you need from your own gba and make an emulator out of it. Downloading Roms is also illegal, unless, once again, you rip whatever you need from your own game, that you bought. | |

1. Emulators are not illegal 2. Roms are only legal if you have a copy of the game itself, so if you have a pokemon gold that you bought or recieved as a gift, you can Legally download a pokemon gold rom online | |

| 1. How are they not illegal? You can download an emulator without owning the system....
2. I beleive that is a misconception. it is still illegal if you own it, unless you directly rip what you need from the game you have bought, and not just download it, regardless of if you posess it or not. | |
